A Message of Gratitude and Renewal: New Year 2026 best wishes from the Headmaster’s Office.

Dear Parents, Guardians, Alumni, Staff, and the Gallant Students of St. Cyprian High School, Kyabakadde,
As we stand at the dawn of 2026, I am filled with a profound sense of pride and gratitude. On behalf of the Board of Governors and the management team, I wish you all a very Happy New Year. This transition is not merely a change of dates on a calendar; it is a moment to pause, reflect on the milestones of the past twelve months, and recalibrate our compass for the journey ahead.
The year 2025 was a landmark chapter in the history of St. Cyprian High School, Kyabakadde. It was a year where our collective resilience was tested and our commitment to the holistic development of the African child was reaffirmed. As I look back, I am moved by the spirit of “Excelsior”, always upward that defined our school community.
Our primary mission has always been academic rigor, and 2025 saw our students reach new heights. Our candidates in the national examinations demonstrated exceptional performance, maintaining our position as a leading academic powerhouse in the region. Beyond the grades, we successfully integrated more practical ICT training into our lower secondary curriculum, ensuring our students are not just consumers of technology, but creators. The dedication of our teaching staff, who went above and beyond to provide remedial support and mentorship, has been the cornerstone of these successes.
At Kyabakadde, we believe that a mind stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions. In 2025, our sports teams and music, dance, and drama departments brought glory to the school. Our basketball team reached the regional finals and represented the country at the East African games in Kenya, displaying sportsmanship that won the hearts of many. Meanwhile, our choir’s performance at the diocesan festivals reminded us that talent, when nurtured with discipline, creates harmony that transcends the classroom.
To provide a conducive learning environment, 2025 saw the completion of several facility upgrades. We successfully renovated the science laboratories and expanded our library resources, providing our learners with the tools necessary for modern research. We also intensified our “Green Kyabakadde” initiative, planting more trees and promoting environmental consciousness among the students a lesson in stewardship that they will carry for a lifetime, we also constructed an all-weather basketball court.
As a Catholic-founded institution, our successes are not measured solely by certificates, but by the character of our graduates. Throughout 2025, our spiritual programs, weekly Masses, and guidance and counseling sessions remained the bedrock of our discipline. We have seen our students grow into responsible, God fearing young men and women who understand the value of integrity and service to others.
As we enter this New Year, we do so with a clear vision. We intend to build upon the foundations laid in 2025. To our returning students, I challenge you to set your goals higher. The successes of 2025 are now the floor upon which we stand to reach for the ceiling of 2026.
To our parents, your unwavering support both financial and emotional is the wind beneath our wings. We invite you to continue this partnership. We encourage you to stay engaged with our school calendar and Ministry guidelines via the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) and the Ministry of Education and Sports websites to ensure we are all aligned for the success of our children.
The New Year often comes with uncertainties, but let us be guided by faith and the knowledge that we are a family. Let us treat each other with kindness and work with a spirit of togetherness.
May the Almighty God, who has brought us through 2025, guide our steps throughout 2026. May He bless your homes with peace, your hands with productivity, and your hearts with joy.
We look forward to welcoming our students back for the first term of 2026, ready to write the next great chapter of the St. Cyprian High School, Kyabakadde story.
For God and My Country.
